Interesting that it hasn't been mentioned on here yet. Just goes to show that we here in the SEC have some of the largest glass houses ever recorded. Nothing personal against USC, but this would be front page of the AJC sports section at exactly 12:31am and the narrative would undoubtedly be that Mark Richt had lost control (per Kirk Herbstreit) had it been a UGA player. But since its in Columbia, the only outlet I have seen reporting it is the teams 24/7 site. Just seems to show the ultra hot spotlight you reside in near the Atlanta area, I suppose.
Not sour grapes, just don't think that it could be disproven.
Na'ty Rodgers

Looks like Spurrier has control of crisis management and Richt lost control if it

Yep. Well said. It'll be fun to see what all the dawgsessed USCe fans have to say about it

I am not saying what Na'ty did was bad. It really isn't. He is a college kid that was drinking, OH NOZ!
I just think it goes to show the disproportionality of the entire situations surronding such arrests within our own conference.

Like you said part of it is UGA's proximity to Atlanta and part of it is confirmation bias.
You guys are closer to the larger and more independent regional media centers and then there's that perception that Richt's teams are soaked in criminality so when one, or five or ten Bulldogs get arrested each offseason they're more likely to make the news than a USC freshman being arrested for underage drinking. It's quite simple really.

And yet UGA players get busted for underage drinking and its a "symptom of a larger problem."
frick, UTk set the benchmark for underage drinking earlier this offseason and we've pretty much forgotten about it. Meanwhile, UGA is getting the "UGA doesn't take care of its guys" treatment on the negative recruiting trail.
I iz mad.

Sure sounds like it.
The UGA alum beat writer for the State josh Kendall made some excuse about the county Athens is in posting arrest info online. Also claimed two USC football players were arrested over winter break but the info didn't come out because Richland county has a different process (fat fricking chance)

Dude. Don't be that guy that turns the topic into a flame war. Your response is the exact reason I brought it up. UGA guys arrested for Underage drinking-rumors 1 minute later.
USC guy-3 hours til an article surfaces.
That is all I am saying.

Lol wut?
UGA has more players arrested, they get more coverage because of it and gain a reputation for it
It's not a mass media conspiracy like some UGA fans want to believe

Outside of the double dipping thing, what do UGA players do that is different from any other program of 85 guys?
Get caught.
Get caught.

Didn't say it was. Point is every team has arrests. Your team does, my team does, everyones team on here does. It is, what it is. How they get covered is not the same, like it or not.

UGAs always get arrested.
