is this part of Saban's 'player safety' program?

How big of a boy are ya? I just got to make sure I got the right caliber.

Sounds like a reasonable opinion to me. I agree with him.

Why did you leave out the part where he advocated an underclassmen combine so they could see where they stand before having to declare?
Posted on 3/21/14 at 12:07 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
I don't think Saban is implying that juniors cannot go pro early. What I think he is saying is that they should have the ability to get more info about where they would get drafted and then make a decision based on that. Go to the combine, see how you measure up, if you are not as good as you thought them you can go back to school and work on your game if you chose to. Is it really that hard to understand?

My point is that Saban spent the whole winter griping about player safety because he can't stop the HUNH and now he wants players to stay and play another year risking injury. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth.
This is just reaching because you hate all things Saban. Risk of injury has nothing to do with coming back and playing one more year of college football. I guess the kid could get drafted in the 7th round or better yet sign a free agent contract and blow his knee out during training camp. I'm sure the money they would have made will have them setup for life.

this has been Saban's stance for quite a while

Now? You are about 10-15 years late to the party on this one.

It apparently is for you, yes.

"maybe if a guy doesn't have at least a top-three-round grade, you don't even invite him to the combine."
That is suggesting something be added to obstruct a person wanting to apply for work and stopping him from getting an interview.
I can agree with an underclassmen combine as a choice.

You know Saban really has the hater's jimmies rustled when common sense things he says are attacked.

What world do you live in? Do you think companies just invite anybody and everybody to come interview for them? I went through on and off campus recruiting while in school and guess who got invited to the recruiting events and got wined and dined by potential employers? The students with the best resumes(highest grades, etc). The employers were very selective in who they talked with and invested time. It wouldn't be a rule for the NFL, Saban is just suggesting they be more selective in who they invite to come to the combine. Many more come than ever have a chance to play in the NFL and I know it might come as a shock to you but some might even regret giving up their eligibility with no NFL career to show for it.

What did you miss? He wants to cut down on how many are getting invites. He said don't give them an invite if they don't grade out in the 3rd round.
They are already getting the invite to interview (combine). Are you retarded?

Common sense is a rarity on this board. They'd have something to say anti-Saban, if he explain a simple way to wipe your a--. Bless their hearts.

But, when Saban spews garbage about how it is better for players to stay another year in one interview right after he has spent the whole winter acting like he cared about "player safety" in trying to outlaw the HUNH after his team got beat by it in two straight games, I am going to call him out for being a liar and hypocrite.
Damn, this may the dumbest post I have read on SECR this week. Talk about straining to find something to criticize.
