The only time I will ever do this, but...
If you don't have Ole Miss in your fricking Top 5, you are a fricking retard that doesn't look past the words Ole and Miss. I know it says 10/11, but we really return all 11 starters. Mike Marry was a starter in name because of the CM Award.
My top 5:
Florida
LSU
MSU
Ole Miss
Alabama
TBH, this should be everyones Top 5.

1. Bama - Until someone proves they can field a better defense, I'll continue to pick them first. 2010 & 2013 were some of their most inexperienced defenses under Saban, and they still topped the SEC.
2. UF - They have as much talent on defense as anyone. Plus they better field an elite defense, because I don't see their offense being of much help.
3. LSU - They have the talent and defensive coaching, so it is hard to to rank them in the top 3.
4. UGA - This ranking is based soley on my assumption that Pruit can get his schemes installed in time, and that the player buy into it.
5. AU - I think their defense will improve, if for no other reason than it is one more year of being in Johnson's scheme.

Who the frick puts A&M on this list?
Do you see Kentucky ranking in the Top 1 offensive units, slightly beating out Florida?

In no order:
Alabama. Only return 4 but they have studs coming in and from past recruiting classes.
LSU. DBacks should be more solidified. Alexander better be starting day 1. Hopefully the coaches don't make adjustments before it's too late; See Robinson starting after Alabama last year.
Florida. Good scheme and solid players.
Georgia. Return a lot they will improve.
Ole Miss. Pretty good amount of talent on that defense. They play fast and fly to the ball. Just gotta stay healthy.
LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama are teams you really never have to worry about when it comes to defense. In what fans of their teams consider a "down" year for those defenses, they still excel most other defenses in the country/SEC.

Honestly Nickoe hurt us more than he helped for a large part of the season (mostly due to injury and in some cases stupid penalties). Then the last two games he just went crazy and made huge game changing plays.
Guy ate our lunch for four friggin' years I feel like so I'm happy to see him go.
2013 - 5 tackles, 1 INT, 1 QB hurry, 1 forced fumble
2012 - 6 tackles
2011 - did not play
2010 - 1 tackle

the best D units will consist of every SECe team with the exception of UGA and USCe

There may (or may not) be 4 returning starters on defense, but they played a lot of kids on defense last year. There is plenty of defensive experience for Bama returning for this season.

This surprises me. He single handedly won you the Arkansas and Ole Miss games. I would have thought he would be thought of more highly.

Georgia had the 79th ranked scoring defense last season, 9th in the SEC. If we move up to the top 5 in the SEC, I would be surprised and elated. Pruitt did a hellava job at FSU but he had a lot more talent to work with in the FSU secondary than we have. The recruiting sites tend to tout our recruiting and the number of players we send to the NFL but the truth is we consistently miss on key recruits on the OL and in the Secondary. It will be interesting to see what Pruitt can do with what he has to work with.

I jusr hope our secondary plays better and we have a really good pass rush.

Alabama
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Ole Miss
Alabama has had the best defense the past 6 years and nothing will change in 2014.

Said every football fan about their team's defense ever.
