I'm no Bill Polian or Bobby Beathard, but Tre Mason seems like he'd make a dam good Falcon. Despite the fact that the Falcons' two most dubious draft pick in team history have been Auburn goobers - Pat Sullivan and Aundareray Bruce.

Mason would be there early in the second round more than likely. Mason is like Quizz Rodgers except way faster and way more bad arse. I can see Mason getting the chains moving and setting up those big play action passes to Julio and Roddy White that were missing

Falcons are not drafting a RB that high if at all.

I think they will draft a RB, but you're right...not that high. Maybe 5th round. RB class is pretty stacked.

Personally, I'm hoping for Lache Seastrunk, but not so sure if our current offensive line scheme would suit his talents.

I wouldn't mind Dri Archer either, seems like he could be a Sproles type.

Falcons need strengthen the trenches...such as protection AND hole makers for the QB/RB. Then defensive pieces.

Mason is nothing special. Its no surprise RBs are going later this year. Sadly that wont be the case in the next draft.

Dri Archer

The fastest human being I've ever seen in person. He would be dynamic on returns and is dangerous in the passing game. He isn't an NFL between the tackles runner but man he can fly.

No way on Mason.

IF we draft a RB, it'll be like 5th round or later.

We just brought in a NT and 3-4 DE, clearly signaling that we're moving to a 3-4 base.

Jackson and Babs will start at 3-4 DE with Matthews and Goodman behind them. Peters and Robertson are undersized for NT, so we're lacking depth there, and other than Biermann, we have no prototypical 3-4 OLB's. Massaquoi and Maponga are too big and slow in coverage for 3-4 OLB.

Spoon and Worrilow will play ILB with Dent and Bartu as ILB depth, Biermann at OLB, and Massaquoi, Umenyora, and Maponga will come in on 4-3 looks.

So we have no depth at NT, and not only do we have no depth at 3-4 OLB, but we are missing another starting OLB.

My guess is, Umenyora, Maponga, and Robertson might be released by end of TC final cuts. And Peters will either lose weight to play 3-4 DE or gain weight to play NT. Massaquoi will continue to put his hand in the dirt on the DL and rush the edge in 4-3 sets. But other than that, everyone else except Umenyora, Maponga, and Robertson are suited nicely for the 3-4

Not to mention we still desperately need a starting RT just in case Mike Johnson doesn't pan out or he gets injured yet again as well as a FS.

Our draft is going to be at least two 3-4 OLB's, a big NT, a FS, and a RT/OL with our first 5 picks (not in any particular order, however). And I think Khalil Mack is our first pick as he's the absolute perfect 3-4 OLB which we need above anything else.

Quizz is a receiving back who excels at running routes out of the backfield whereas Mason makes his living taking handoffs and hitting the hole. Literally the only things they have in common are their physical statures and lack of break away speed.

Jeremy Hill in the 4th would be nice. Tough, physical runner capable of chunk yardage. He's about the size of Jackson with fresh legs. Not much of a receiving threat but I think we need a guy that can pound out 4 yard carries and every once and a while break off one for 40. Hill brings that to the table.

Jeremy Hill is SLOW. 4.66 40 indoors on a track. No thanks.

Gimmie Dri Archer or Damien Williams in the 5th round.

Hill has football speed. The guy is a good tough running back. 4.6 is plenty fast enough for a dude that size. You rarely saw Hill getting hawked down from behind. I know Georgia did a great job of bottling up the lsu run game this year, but that was the exception. Hill gets small in the hole and does a really good job of breaking tackles at the second level and accelerating quickly through the secondary. He was a hot knife through butter against Auburn

I think he'll be the best bargain at RB in the draft if he falls to where he's expected to fall

It's quite pointless to even bring up Hill and the Falcons.Falcons have a Falcons filter and Hill would NEVER get the pass. I mean heck we passed on Honey Badger and he just smoked abit of synthetic weed. Hill fricking beat someone unconscious and messed around with a 14year old...not a chance Blank wants to give his $$ to that fool so you are wasting your words.

Apparently we DO have a few Bill Polians and Bobby Beathards on this thread, as well as someone who butchers the word "literally." "Literally" should be a banned word on the secrant. It was born out of sorority houses and girls' slumber parties and has no business on a football board.

So how are they similar besides the fact that they are both undersized and lack elite break away speed, smart arse?

Don't butcher the word "literally" if you don't want someone calling you out for posting like a sorority sister.
