Guns don't do harm, people do
Cars don't do harm, people do
Nuclear bombs don't do harm, people do
heroin dosn't do harm, people do
and you can keep going.

Although your right guns don't do harm, people do is not an argument for anything it's just a statement. And if you're just making a statement then fine. But if you're implying an argument against gun regulations/controls then the exact same argument the same argument can be used against laws to control nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, heroin, and on and on.

So it's not so much a dumb argument as a useless statement that is a waste of time

Heroin and nuclear weapons are a particularly horrible comparison to draw.

You're conflating now. And still ignoring the Constitution.
And wrt this particular instance, what gun-control law would've prevented this?
