I'm just not grasping it then..

His wife isn't happy within herself and she seems to be filling her void with materialistic things but that is an endless ladder. Perhaps her parents even were pushovers and coddled her to a point of entitlement unknowingly and unwillingly.

Hawgeye probably has a weakness of always saying 'yes' to her therefore causing a building of resentment and stress. I am sure the innocent little girl probably prolonged the situation until now.

The majority on here will thumb their nose towards counseling but why would one not want to better themselves and their life? Pretty easy answer. No one wants to look deep inside yourself and that is what is wife is avoiding and perhaps him too to some degree.

Is this where we start talking about Maslow's hierarchy of needs?

Counseling will work, but it will only work if all parties involved agree there is a problem and want to resolve it.

Dude, I go see a counselor all of the time. I love it. Hell, I'll go just to talk shite about anything. Keeps my yin and yang balanced. If people can afford it, then everyone should have a good counselor.

Went today, and discussed the Ukraine and the Keystone pipeline out on the balcony overlooking Hillcrest.

There is just something refreshing about sharing shite with someone that isn't a friend, family, or co-worker.
