That would be crazy if we were really willing to pay 2.2 for a basketball coach. Don't get me wrong...I would love who we could get for that type of salary. I would just be surprised.

I agree with that.

For all intents and purposes, our athletics dept works as a nonprofit. So we'll have to find somewhere to invest the extra $30+ million we'll be bringing in starting next year(SECNetwork, expanded stadium, reworked bowl structure and pricing). Where better than head basketball coach salary?

For all intents and purposes -- we're 6 months away from being one of the 25 richest athletics depts in the country. At some point, we've got to start acting like it -- and if it's time to make a basketball change a year from now -- I would expect us to go all out toward someone to put butts in seats to turn this shitshow around in a hurry...

Yeah, it would be nice to make a big splash hire in a sport for once.

As far as ROI an extra million in basketball has the potential to get you a lot more than an extra million in football.

We need to make some exec changes as well in order to start "Acting like" one of the top 25 financially well off Athletic Depts IMO.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but providing some numbers for us to look at would go a long way in helping me understand how this is possible.

Agreed, as they should.
