Got the sniffles this morning

What I hate about working with the public, anyone brings something into the store and you are likely to get it

I'm trying to rotate medicine and Afrin
Elizabeth didn't sleep well last night either and since I'm off I'm just letting her and Wifey sleep in and I'll take both with my Dad out to see Lego Movie later on

Get the Nyquil severe cold and flu. After a night or two of taking it that shite will be gone.

Another snow day. They're trying to pass a bill here that will waive days for schools who have had at least 10 snow days (we're on our 12th). And parents are already throwing a huge arse fit about it because their glorified babysitting service will force them to deal with their kids maybe 5 days in June (they won't waive all of our days).
I really, truly do hate parents sometimes.

What? They are throwing a fit because they want to make up all of the snow days?
Morning everyone.

They're saying the kids don't get enough education and that taking away 5 of the days tacked on to the end of the school year is "robbing them of their education".
Thing is, nobody is going to do anything those 5 days. The standardized state test is at the end of May and the kids know they're taught to a test. And we go to school a few weeks longer than we did just 10 years ago.
Their "solutions" are six day school weeks and taking away Spring Break. Teachers proposed adding time to the rest of the school days (around 30 minutes) and they protested that by saying they couldn't make arrangements for their "child care".

That's a ridiculous argument from the parents. If they're really concerned about their kids' education, 30 minutes tacked on to the end of each day seems like it would be the easiest solution. How could that possibly interfere with child care, other than reducing the need for it?

I'm gonna hold you to that....or I'll just show up at your work and bug you

morning everyone, miserable rainy day.

They just want to buck anything suggested by the teachers because they're viewed as the "enemy" right now and in their eyes are the reason their children aren't "proficient".
It's absolutely absurd. These are the same parents who when we offer after school enrichment bitch that their kids can't be there because of transportation so the district ends up paying out of pocket to provide buses for it. Then they bitch about the cost of the transportation.

They sound like miserable people. I despise people who bitch just to bitch, and it's everybody else's fault except theirs.
