@Mengus22: In fact, two years ago Calipari and Saban looked invincible. Now? They're human. Still at the very top of their field, but not unbeatable.

So everyone was ready to turn off the lights and lock the doors cause obviously no one else stood a chance with these guys in town but now it seems the playing field is starting to level off?

What do Saban and Calipari have in common? What team did they both lose to last, that would make people make comments like that?

If a local radio host in the Kentuckiana region says it, it's definitely true.

What idiot thought Saban would never lose again? He is the best in the business but nobody ever thought he was unbeatable. He lost two games this season after winning the last two titles. Sorry if I don't jump off a bridge just yet.

Cal was never invincible. If he was he'd have a couple more NCs by now.

But I wouldn't exactly trust a UofL beat writer who couldn't get a job with any of the major local outlets.

It's moreso how they're losing. Cal's freshman aren't gelling as they have in the past and Saban's struggles have been well-documented. The "process" has been halted

Saban went 11-2 with losses to two BCS bowl participants. Cal lost to the last place team in the SEC. Missed the tourney last year. Not even remotely the same. Not to mention that Saban has three titles to Cal's one.

You guys are being very humble right now but think back two years ago and tell me you expected Saban to be begging for a rule change and UK facing a return trip to the NIT (*)

The game has passed them by. They're the new Bobby Bowden and Phillip Fulmer

Saban could average no better than 10 wins a year for the next five seasons, never play for another title, and he's still the best of his generation. There's not comparison to the fall Cal seems to be having.

Bowden had his first perfect season in his 70s. Fulmer just got lazy.

It isn't ideal but I've seen more success in Cal's tenure then a lot of programs will see in a lifetime. I'm not declaring failure when we've had one down season and one (while not pretty) still TBD. He'd have to have at least one more awful season for anyone to realistically call for his head.

Saban has lost 9 games since 2008 and finished in the Top 10 every year with 3 Nat'l titles in that time frame. Cal lost to Robert Morris in the NIT last year and sucks again this year.

Cal's had two bad seasons after making runs at UK, Memphis, and UMass. Success in Basketball isn't necessarily summed up by NC's alone so he gets a slight pass as a result

What does invincible mean, anyway? There was only one year where Bama was "invincible". That was 2009. Every other year Bama's been beaten at least once. In 2010 we lost three times and came back in 2011 to win the National Championship game.

'ppreciate your interest in our coach.
