Sandstorm is taken, and I've heard it causes spontaneous pants shitting in UGA players.

I'll suggest The Clash- Train in Vain

I hate piped in music and jumbotrons. Both have ruined the Gameday experience to me.

I thought that already was our song.

I would also like to nominate "Auburn sucks" by T-Pain and Early.

Auburn Sucks

I always wondered why a state that was burned down by Sherman would choose the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Odd.

Because the tune for the Battle Hymn of the Old Republic was borrowed from "John Brown's Body" which in turn got it from "Say brothers, will you meet us?" an old campfire tune.

Also, Sherman was a POS war criminal.

In that techno vein though, we really do play "Levels by Avicii" a ton and were the first school I heard do so.

Baba Oreilly is good for the intro, I love it, I wonder if there's a way to chop it up into different themes with hip hop urban black back beats for quick plays during huddles and such.

Just only play things by Pastor Troy. Better yet, let Pastor Troy take over the mascot reigns from Hairy Dawg.

And if the redcoats could go ahead and learn Eastbound and Down, that'd be the fricking tits.

Yes, he was a war criminal against the people of your state (among others). And John Brown's body was created by the Massachusetts infantry mustering to fight the South in 1861.

Yet a half a century later you pick the song that had become synonymous with his cause and which justified his actions. I'm not weighing in on the politics, just noting that it is damn weird Georgia chose that particular song. Especially during that era in history. It is like Poland picking Deutchland Uberalis.

JBB still borrowed the tune from the campfire song, but I don't disagree that it is a bit odd. It is a good song and music though, so I don't mind.

I'm not exactly sure when that became our song, sometime in the 1890's, but the men who started UGA were mostly Yale alumni so it may have been a nod to the north considering the time period.

Our official fight song is not "Glory, Glory" though. It is "Hail to Georgia".

Auburn also has a version of the song called "Glory, Glory to Ole Auburn".
