Should be a good game tonight. Win and we are looking good for getting the "double-bye" in the SEC tournament (meaning we begin play on the Friday of tournament week in the quarterfinals).
A win also sets us up very well to keep hope alive for an NIT spot. We're currently 15-11 with an RPI of 85.
**WARNING THE FOLLOWING IS PURE DISNEY DAWG FANTASY**
If we somehow swept these last four games (Mizzou, @Arkansas, Mississippi State, @LSU) I think we'd be on the bubble for the NCAA tourney. In that scenario our RPI would probably be in the 60s and just one win the SEC tournament then a loss would have us finishing at 20-12. Again, that is likely pure fantasy because of these last 4 there is only one game that looks like an easy-ish win (Mississippi State).

More Disney thinking we lose 1 game in the regular season, win 2 in the tournament and all the favorites win their respectful tournaments. It won't happen, but would be cool.
Honestly, unless we lose out and lose first game of the SEC tournament, we will be in the NIT

Honestly if we win 2 out of those 4 games, I would feel positive about the end of the season. Our team has already played well above my expectations. Fox has done more with less in my view. Gooooooo Dawgs!!

Absolutely.

He's done this to himself.
ETA: The AD hasn't helped him a ton either...

Yeah, I'd be very happy with a split of our last four.
Would be nice to get a win tonight.

It will be nice to finish strong, win a few games in the NIT hopefully and have some hope for next season. We will only lose 1 starter, and for the first time since the 2010-2011 season, we will start the year with fans legitimately thinking we will make the dance.

Yeah, I'm going to have to start paying attention to Georgia bball now.
Starting with - how's recruiting going?

No players committed, we'd only have room for one scholarship (I think). If we were going to do a late signing at this point it'd likely be a big man.

Seems like that's what we're missing (and have been missing for awhile) - a dominating big man.
Still, we're rebounding like fiends.

Looking from the outside in it would be a super run in making the NIT this year.
Lets hope things fall into place.

If you want to go Disney, then think we lock up the 3 seed, and go on a run in Atlanta.

Realistically, I think the only way UGA makes the tournament is to win the SEC tourney. Our non-conference record is pretty bad, and the SEC isn't strong enough as a conference to make up for that. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah the chances are ridiculously low that we make the big one. We would ahve to win out and win several in the SECT just to be considered. Our early season was BAD.
And honestly, we're no lock to make the NIT either. Still gonna need some help there.

Based on our run through the SEC, our OOC record is inexplicably bad, even considering that SEC sux at basketball.
Hopefully next year, with a veteran team that knows how to play together and knows it can win, we'll remedy that issue.

If we could reverse that shitty week in Charleston (went 0-3) then we'd be dancing this year. Hell that one game vs. Temple will probably wind up being the difference. Their RPI is so terrible that that one loss probably costs us 10 to 15 RPI spots.

It would be nice to win out and beat current #1 Florida to win the SEC tournament. One can dream...

Tony George | CBB Sides Free pick 546 Georgia -2.0 (-110) Hilton vs 545 Missouri Analysis: TUESDAY FREE PLAY – NCAA HOOPS Georgia -1.5 Yes, the Tigers are a fade team on the road and cannot get it together this season. Poor play, lack of intensity, poor coaching, no bench, you name it, it is going wrong for Mizzou, Especially ON DEFENSE. Now they face a Georgia team who has allowed just 57 ppg their last 5 games, as opposed to Mizzou allowing 46% from the floor and 78 ppg their last 5 games. WOW. Mizzou just got beat at Bama in a lackluster effort and we are catching some line value here as a Tiger team takes to the road where they have struggled against lesser teams, and you have a home team laying less than a 2 pointer against a team on back to back roadies in conference action on a short time frame who are trying to find some chemistry. Georgia on a 5-1 SU run and Mizzou just 3-4 SU their last 7 games. I am not taking a team on the decline on the road against a team who is 12-2 SU at home this season and play some nasty defense. Simply cannot trust Mizzou on the road, this is a cheap line. Oh yeah, the Bulldogs already beat Mizzou in Columbia this year by 6 points as an 11.5 road doggie in an OT game.
