I agree with that.

We hate to lose to them but they love to beat us.

But as others have said, it has to do with the disparity between the programs after Vaught and Archie moved on (1970 was last year for both - Vaught came back for one year in 1973 though).

From 1947 (Vaught's first year) to 1970, Ole Miss was 15-7-3 against LSU. They owned us for much of the 50s -- 1958 and 1959 being the only exception. LSU managed only 4 wins against Ole Miss between 1951 and 1969. That will earn you some hate.

From 1971 to present, LSU is 28-14-1 against Ole Miss and has won 10 of the last 14. LSU has been ranked in 12 of those last 14 games whereas Ole Miss has only been ranked in 1 of the last 14.
