I know Eli was a Sigma Nu but don't remember where the arrest was. Seems like it was near the house though. Regardless, you would never flee a public intox. Apples to oranges.

Whereas (and I know this sound terrible) if I'm a young black man who knows the cops are on the way I'm probably getting way the frick out of there even if I had nothing to do with the fight.

If I'm a white like Eli and it's my house then I'm probably staying put and giving the cops a shite eating grin, saying as little as possible and what little I do say ends in "sir".

Fleeing doesn't make you guilty. I don't blame them at all. But I would guess the lack of evidence has far more to do with no one (at the time the cops investigated) being willing to rat out some high profile players and recruits and the lack of any tangible evidence.

Since the police investigated, it's quite possible a few of his fraternity brothers have decided to testify. Or maybe the lawyers have some tangible evidence the cops missed. More likely some people be talking that previously clammed up.
