I've heard a bunch of whining and bitching on TexAgs about some bullshite drama that's supposedly going down with the Student Body President and the Student Senate, but nobody is saying why they are so butthurt. Just curious if anyone knew of anything, or is this just some pointless non-story?

Looch is trying to become SBP even though he's not a student.

Always made me laugh when I saw all the campaign signs for this. I don't think anyone at A&M really cares. We vote more for the Yell Leaders

When I was a student, the SBP who had the least annoying campaign would get my vote. If they yelled at me or gave me some bullshite pamphlet as I was trying to walk to class I never voted for that person. That's about how much I cared about our student president

The MSC breezeway was a house of horrors

The ONLY good thing about the renovations my senior year was that I didn't have to worry about being accosted passing through there anymore.

Haha yes! I would actively avoid it just because of the pamphlet barrage.

I definitely started doing that. Especially when I was in uniform.

I never valued my earbuds more than during election season.

Also, does anyone really care about the senate and sbp? Do they really do anything?

Chesshire's reasoning:

quote:

"Reid Joseph has refused to communicate with the rest of the student government association on progress towards advancing the agenda set forth by the student senate and has forced more and more cabinet members to resign, oftentimes shifting blame onto them," Cheshire said.
Those accusations are unfounded, Joseph said.
"We, as an executive cabinet, have been completely transparent this year and have a website that has been repeatedly sent to the student senate which has every executive report of our cabinet for the entire year," Joseph said. "We are excited to continue to work with the student senate and finish out this semester strong."

First off, I can't believe more of you don't care about the Student Body President scandal. This guy wields the authority to set the agenda for a legislative body that is capable of making policy recommendations that the A&M administration will politely ignore. That's power, folks.

Also, people actually vote for student body president? I thought the guy who had a girlfriend usually won 2-1 in the popular vote.

This is how I picture the SBP after the Admin ignores his policy requests

WTF!

I actually plan on never finding out what the issue here is. I don't like those kind of people.
