I don't know if I'm the only one that thinks this, but the officiating in the Ole Miss/Kentucky was awful last night. Seemed like everything got called for Kentucky, but there were never any calls for Ole Miss

We would have lost either way. Every team in the SEC gets favorable calls at home.

This is why you lost

quote:

Cats outrebounded Ole Miss 41-26, held 44-24 advantage in points in the paint, blocked 12 shots tonight. Inside dominance

Plus UK shot 60% in the 2nd half.

Didn't see the game but SEC basketball is all but unwatchable to me because of the advantage the home teams enjoy.

ETA:
Home W 41 L 17
Away W 17 L 41

I know I'm one of the older guys here, but seeing this subject header reminds me of one of the biggest meltdowns in SEC history.

1982 SEC Tournament, first time since the renewal it was held on a team's home court, Rupp Arena. Kentucky edged Ole Miss 62-58. They also had 19 fouls to Ole Miss' 38 and outshot OM 42-16 at the FT line. Bob Weltlich,Ole Miss' coach was rightfully mad,but he absolutely melted down in the press conference.Almost in tears he was saying to the effect,"now I have to go in there and face my kids who are crying their eyes out. What am I going to tell them? This was a disgrace", etc.

This made the round in '82 nationwide. Who knows what would have happened today.

Ole Miss fans blaming the refs. Typical.

Why does everyone on the rant blame officiating for losses?

Sometimes the better team plays better defense and fouls less. Sometimes they don't.

The officiating was fine. Ole Miss has zero post presence and takes a lot of jumpshots. Half of which are out of control shots by Henderson. You arent going to get to the line that way.
