I don't know if I'm the only one that thinks this, but the officiating in the Ole Miss/Kentucky was awful last night. Seemed like everything got called for Kentucky, but there were never any calls for Ole Miss

We would have lost either way. Every team in the SEC gets favorable calls at home.

It is what it is.. Bitching on the internet won't change a damn thing

Yes we probably still would have lost, but I don't think the game would have gotten away like it did.

This is why you lost
Plus UK shot 60% in the 2nd half.

Pretty much. When you're down almost 20, it's not just an officiating issue. Of course we got a favorable whistle, I don't know many home teams that don't in this conference or any other. But anyone who acts like it was the only reason just wasn't paying attention.

Didn't see the game but SEC basketball is all but unwatchable to me because of the advantage the home teams enjoy.

I know I'm one of the older guys here, but seeing this subject header reminds me of one of the biggest meltdowns in SEC history.
1982 SEC Tournament, first time since the renewal it was held on a team's home court, Rupp Arena. Kentucky edged Ole Miss 62-58. They also had 19 fouls to Ole Miss' 38 and outshot OM 42-16 at the FT line. Bob Weltlich,Ole Miss' coach was rightfully mad,but he absolutely melted down in the press conference.Almost in tears he was saying to the effect,"now I have to go in there and face my kids who are crying their eyes out. What am I going to tell them? This was a disgrace", etc.
This made the round in '82 nationwide. Who knows what would have happened today.

Like I said last night its Kentucky. So this is expected. The fact that we were only down by 1 at the half is quite remarkable considering how lopsided the officiating was.

Tenn and UK have exploited our weakness on this team. We are soft as hell down low. UK got offensive rebounds at will and we couldn't get anything easy around the rim. We need Colbey to flip the switch and Saiz to play a lot better, especially on the boards.

People who know frick all about sports blame the officiating.

We lost because they had better talent.
That said, SEC basketball officials will always favor Kentucky, just as SEC football officials will always favor Alabama, regardless of which other SEC team either is playing.

I'm not saying officiating doesn't sometimes have an affect on games, because it does. I'm talking about the "refs lost us the game" crowd. There are always a lot of other stats that help tell the story.
I don't agree that refs favor certain teams...but agree that SEC refs aren't the greatest.

While the refs were bad, our rebounding and shooting lost us the game in the end. We took a lot of bad shots, especially in the second half when we started to fall behind and began to press for points. Fouls had a larger impact on the competitive first half than the second half.
