Stoops at UK is the 2014 version of Freeze.

Stoops is taking an Ohio approach, which is smart. Mizzou needs to take an Illinois/Ohio approach. The southeast is already saturated with bigger and better programs than Ole Miss, and Freeze won't be able to consistently win head to heads with all the powers in the area.

The schools that beat us out for them have been elite programs for years, so recruits have confidence that they will continue to be at the elite level. Ole Miss has not been at the elite level for a long time, so many recruits remain skeptical that it ever will be. You can only change that perception by being on a constant upward trajectory.....and we would have been had we won the last 2 games.

Exactly. College football is a caste system because of recruiting. It took us moving to a new conference and wrapping ourselves in that conference brand to move up.

As long as he supplements the MS talent with a few elite guys from OOS then we will be fine. The SE also has an overabundance of talent to draw from.

It also took getting a good recruiter. The SEC brand gave y'all a boost but Sumlin has put in major work. It's all about the coaches in recruiting.

He's done good job at getting the top guys in the state thus far. If Freeze wins the in-state battle next year and grabs a couple of big players from OOS, next year's class will be special.

Hugh Freeze used some less than legal/ethical means to recruit players to Ole Miss last year. A lot of coaches in the conference started asking questions. The fact that Ole Miss's recruiting class this year is so inferior to the class he put together last year tells me there was some truth to the rumblings.

Of course it was. It was the perfect storm for them with a bunch of 5* guys that had connections to the school already.

That doesn't mean he can't get consistent top 15 classes but last year definitely wasn't the norm.

I'm so pissed at this class. How dare Hugh only have the 13th best class in the country behind 11 traditional power houses and Texas A&M

My fault guys....I had too much money tied up in buying a boat for my boat. Also buying Marlon Humphreys away from MSU.

What exactly were these methods?

Which coaches?
What questions?
What where the answers?

This is huge. Next years MS talent pool is awesome.

I think going into this season State and OM are expecting close to the same thing season wise. Which will make for an awesome egg bowl also an awesome egg bowl atmosphere in Oxford.

The instate battle between Freeze and Mullen next year will be huge. And when Freeze cleans up people won't doubt his crooting skills as much.

How do you figure? State has gotten the top recruit out of MS the past two years. In fact, Connor was the only recruit in the top 5 from MS that you picked up last year.
