Yeah these people don't realize we had Norm Stewart as our coach for 30+ years.
For reference, Norm once stood all the way out at the middle of the court yelling while an Illinois player shot free throws. Our own team had to restrain him and haul him back to the bench. He didn't get T'd up b/c the ref was probably very scurred of what the raving loon would do next.
And of course there was one of our main rivals back in the day, Billy Tubbs at Oklahoma, who during our game with them at OU was handed a microphone to "calm" the crowd and said: "Folks, please, regardless of how terrible the officiating is, do not throw things on the floor." Crowd goes nuts, thweet technical foul and Tubbs has the audacity to look surprised...those were the days
