If that's the case and he knew that staff wouldn't be there, why not just hold off on the commitment to Bama and wait and see see who USC brought in with the next staff?

Well judging from how quickly he recommitted and he was planning to spend his whole Spring Break at Bama and then Aday and will likely do that with USCw so he seems like a kid who wants to be committed and have that out of the way, less stress and by all accounts he had pretty much shut everything down until Nuss and Bama parted ways and then he took an UV to USCw pretty quickly after that.
