UGA fans you are scaring me

At first I was happy with the hiring of Grantham. After seeing numerous posts about you guys glad to see him go and his stats the past couple of seasons, plus us giving him a million dollar 5 year contract, seems to me we are screwed? Is he as bad as you guys are saying? The ACC does not have the caliber of SEC defenses, so maybe his 3-4 scheme will be good enough in the league.

Grantham had all the talent possible at UGA and we gave up 30pts a game. That is really all that needs to be said. Sorry UL

Lets just say... I thought he would have gotten fired after this season. I am shocked someone would hire him with more pay. Good luck with him.. you will need it.

In many metrics this years defense was actually the worst in Georgia history. Not one of, THE worst.

Just go back and look at Georgia's final scores the past couple of years. Grantham is awful and a douche bag.

What matters most is scoring defense. Depending on where you get your stats, Georgia was 79th in scoring defense in 2013; about the same as Tennessee. Our run defense improved some but our pass defense was ridiculously bad.

Fair enough but where can you get historical stats on that? I can only find stuff for 2013.
NCAA's site - old numbers might be here but I can't find them

Pros - He knows his stuff and is a decent recruiter. Until this year, his players typically would rave about him.
Cons - His defense is either too complicated or he is terrible at teaching it on the college level. When your players struggle with it, he will point the finger at them in the media. Right or wrong, he has no accountability. If all the guys are struggling to learn the schemes its on the coach to make necessary changes.
