Yeah, the list is certainly frustrating. It's annoying to see a class that looked really solid start to crumble so quickly.

Wow that class is getting raided.

Franklins a bitch for that. Most UT fans never hated VU, we all hated Franklin for what he did and said off the field. Ironic both fan bases agree on him now.

@wesrucker247: Are those kids who decommitted from Vandy to follow James Franklin to Penn State "men of honor?" Just checking.

if he had left penn state for vanderbilt and was bringing recruits in the other direction I doubt anyone would care.

Vandy fans are srs about their recruits

I agree with this. We could even conceivably sue Franklin and Penn State. The recruits are assets whose commitment was acquired by the money of VU and efforts of VU employees. If Franklin is making directed recruiting efforts, I can see a possible claim for conversion or something similar. There must be a lot of precedent in this area.

Franklin is the biracial Houston Nutt to me.

I get why kids like him but no way he deserves 4.5 mil/year.

That is life in college recruiting and I am not bothered by this. Kids are fair game until they sign a LOI.

Again, if he waited until he was officially at PSU, it would sting less. It's fairly obvious he was still an employee of VU when he started the wheels turning on guys flipping. Using Vandy's own money against them is pretty low class.

James Franklin has been recruiting for Penn St well before he had officially taken the job. Thats what I have a problem with.

It's a shame a lot of these kids don't have better mentors/advisors in their lives. Getting a free Vandy education is not something to take lightly. But who am I kidding. I'm sure education is not even a concern to most.

You can probably add Bryce Lewis to that decommitment list.

Admittedly, I don't know all of the rules. I do know that we were in a recruiting "dead period" when the change took place. However, Sorrel has already stated he initiated the contact with Franklin (via phone call, I believe) Saturday afternoon after the announcement of him taking the PSU job. Sorrel claims no contact was made on Franklin's part or that he had told him in advance of the change from Vandy to PSU.

Likely, violations have occurred, but I think proving that they did will be difficult. I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) players can call coaches basically at will and coaches can answer at any time. You would have to get phone records that prove Franklin made the call or somehow told Sorrel to call him.

Franklin built that program up and tore it down. When you sleep with the devil you get her horns. That being said, already 9 decommits. HOLY SHYT. The biggest one is the QB commit. He looks like he will be pretty good. Sad day for Vandy.

I don't see the big fricking deal here. These kids want to play for Franklin , not Vandy. Get the frick over it.
