a chimp could have "put" Winston into the first round. And Manuel shouldnt have even sniffed the first round.

He hasn't exactly stayed around long enough to reap the benefits of great recruiting. He no doubt would have had Jamarcus Russell, had he remained at LSU. That being said, no many defensive minded coaches have a long resume of producing NFL caliber QBs.

I understand that you don't want him to leave, but the tone of your posts in this thread indicate you know it's in his best interest and you know deep down it's happening.

He's not going to sit for another year or two when he could start for a national title contender and his lifelong favorite team in his home state. As spurned as he felt by not getting a bama offer i'm sure he felt just as spurned by Jimbo when Winston was given the job. The comments by Shannon about why the job was won by Winston are pretty telling. It would make no sense for Coker to stick around at FSU. Even if bama wasn't an option he would be headed elsewhere upon graduation
