Is it me or did Oklahoma runs Auburn's playbook. It seem like we were playing Auburn offense to me. Did Stoops call Malzahn and say hey give us your playbook.

That was nothing like Auburn's playbook

To some extent they did. Even Blackledge commented that OU followed AU's lead and attacker our perimeter. At one point, OU did try to run the same play that AU scored the tying TD with. Our coaches were going nuts because linemen were downfield.
No, they didn't copy AU's playbook but they did take some elements from it.

Not because its Auburn, not because it is Gus Malzahn, etc but why do people keep saying Auburn even has a playbook? Malzahn ran a completely different offense at Springdale, than he did at Arkansas (until Nutt took his car keys away), than he did at Tulsa, than he did at Arkansas state, than he did in 2010 at Auburn, than he does now. The guy is a good play caller but the only reason the run first QB is making a resurgence in the pros and college is they are taking advantage of the current rules some would say unfair advantages.
The new helmet to helmet rules in college effect the ways you can effectively hit a QB especially an elusive one. The fix would be to start calling targeting on offensive players who lead with their helmet.
The only reason every piss poor NFL team is going to QB runs is because they know the NFL's rules on hitting QBs give QBs an unfair advantage. The NFL needs to tweak the rules so that once a QB leaves his drop back/pocket that there is no "roughing the passer" and QBs are treated like RBs when it comes to hits. When they do that you will see every two bit NFL team drop their new found fascination with the Zone Read, Chip Kelly will be jobless, and the NFL will look like pro football again.
College football teams should not be allowed to substitute at all without huddling. The Ref crews are doing a piss poor job at the "compromise" ie the standing over the ball so the D can substitute. In fact in the Bama games vs Texas AM, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Oklahoma I saw SEC and ACC ref crews all go through their motions in a hurried manner to better help the No Huddle teams. That is not football. Teams that actually want to go two minute (ie when a real team like Bama/FSU needs to) then they should really be going two minute IE no substituting without a timeout/huddle.

The only Auburn-esque play I saw was the read option play where the WR bubbled out along the LOS and was a safety valve for the QB on a keeper. They ran it once I believe.
