Is Snyder a bad coach or does he just have shitty players...or do Hagan, Yates and Price just suck?

I was in the personnel group for a long time.

But no way we don't have enough talent to force at least 1 punt against Duke. Our coaches have sucked. Our players have sucked.

I have noticed a significant dropoff in linebacker play since Wallerstedt left for Lubbock...of course not having Porter or Stewart will do that too.

He did well enough that Kliff targeted him as DC and techs D has been better than ours.

That's even worse. That means that the current upperclassmen at LB (Jenkins, Baggs) are that much worse because they can't coach themselves.

Frankly, the only players who should retain their starting job on defense next year are:

Everett
Stansbury
Claiborne
Golden

and that's it.

Too many kids having to play this year. I anticipate substantial improvement for next season.

Substantial? Can you quantify? What rank nationally and in SEC are your expectations?

From 100 to 65 or so.

If you recorded the game, rewatch it. Tell me how many under classmen were on the field for us. A lot.

Why would I expect them improve so much in one year?

Our sophomores this year weren't much improved from last year

Jimmies and Joes not Xs ans Os. We will never succeed in this conference until we have a front 7 capable of getting a run defense and pass rush without sending an all out blitz.

I believe we will be well on our way next season.

Personnel. Last year he never gave up more than 30 in SEC play.

And in today's game, especially against a guy like Cutcliffe that molded the fricking Manning brothers... the pass rush is the most important thing imaginable. How many times this game was it third and long, we rushed three, and the QB had all day to pick the the wide open receiver? We need a pass rush. We need a guy that causes mismatches and and double teams off the edge.

Talent explains why we don't have an elite defense. But there are high school offenses that could have run the ball against us this year. I would have liked to have seen some kind of improvement over the season, especially when the guy's pay is getting bumped up to 700k or whatever.

I don't know why Aggies accept the notion - year in and year out - that we're the only ones playing underclassmen. Attrition is not a problem unique to Brazos County.

Last night's halftime interview was the first time that I could see that Sumlin was as pissed off about our defense as I was. I liked that. Maybe things really will improve for 2014?
