If this is really what it's for, I hate Hyman. I'm not for having athletic teams full of stoners, and players need to run their asses off, but kicking people off the team for that shite is ridiculous.

On the other hand TeLaFzWx, just how many chances is someone supposed to get? Reese refused to follow the rules. At some point a line must be drawn. Reese crossed whatever the line was. Simple.

If only we hired his Dad to help keep him in line.
What a complete waste.
What a complete waste.

The beautiful thing is that j-mychal is average at best, and we still hired his dad.

LSU did the same thing to Tyrann Matthieu. 3 failed drug tests in a row.
You have a right to be pissed over one, but 3 in a span of 3 months?
From my experiences in recruiting, I can tell you that it takes up to 30 days for marijuana to completely leave your system (72 hours for cocaine).
That's why you wait 30 days to administer a drug test after someone tests hot for pot...you don't get a second chance for crack/cocaine/heroin/etc

Well the rules are stupid, and it should be the coach's discretion. If we held all players to these standards players like Von Miller wouldn't have made it to their senior year. And you may think it is as simple as crossing a line, but I don't.

I mean, I'm all for players being able to smoke whenever they want, as long as they are aware of the consequences, and as long as that consequence isn't getting kicked off the team. I mean you could theoritically get black out drunk only three times through the course of a season, get high as shite at that point, and fail three drug tests in three months. Not saying that's what happened, but I'm anti-getting players kicked off the team for smoking weed.

Yeah crack/cocaine and shite is a different story. I'm simply talking about marijuana.

I wonder if they'll keep testing for it once pot is legal. Once gay marriage has completed its blow up, I am hoping herb is next.

I keep waiting for Colorado U. to figure out their only chance back to football relevance is to go for national thugs that wanna get high.

Wanting to get high =/= being a thug.

While I don't disagree with you conceptually, the big money gen ain't ready for legalization. We have at least one big donor (like $30m in the last 5 years big) who has basically said he will never give another dime to A&M if the AD ever embarrasses the university by looking the other way like the Tyrann Mathieu thing.
We also have a pretty severe cultural problem within our AD that needs to be addressed. Just fyi, there has not been a suspension this year in our AD that wasn't due to at least a 2nd failed test. And every athlete knows that during preseason for their sport there will be a test but we've had multiple fail after a previous positive. If you can't quit for 30 days or at the very least take a masking agent, you just don't care. Reese clearly either thought he was bulletproof because of his dad or something or just doesn't care.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he just doesn't care.He used to live two streets over from my parents when we lived in Wheeler Ridge while I was in HS so I have known him for a while. It's just how kids grow up in Bryan, especially at Bryan High.

WBS who was your physical science teacher?

At BHS? Damn, I know it was a guy. He coached at one of the middle schools, Jane Long I think. Lemme see if I can find my yearbook.

If it was a guy nm. Just seeing if you had my cousin as one of your teachers is all

If she was teaching there from '00-'04 then I'm sure I know her even if I didn't have her class.
Posted on 12/26/13 at 3:46 pm to WhiskerBiscuitSlayer
Yeah she's been there a lot longer than that. I am sure you know her she's a pretty popular teacher.

There are actually some really good teachers at Bryan High, or were. I'm not sure how things have changed since they opened the two new high schools in B/CS.
