so Bama has won their division 2 out of the last 5 years and people are saying they should have a shot for a title for the 4th time in the last 5 years.
I hate the eye test, if you can't win your own division you shouldn't have a chance to play for the title.

the "eye test" is nothing but an excuse to disregard empirical data in favor of introducing your own biases.

Not this year obviously, but in the playoffs? You damn sure should. If the two best teams are in the same conference, the loser of their game should be penalized for playing in that conference? If ANY conference has two of the best best teams, they should get in. If conference champions are favored the playoffs will be a joke.

Yeah, I am not predicting we win right now, but more so just expreesing how much I enjoy watching this AU team because we really just line up and run right at whoever we face.
Just a lot of fun watching the Gus Bus rely on a running game that says, "Here we fricking come, you know what is coming, prep your arse or do something to stop it".

Baylor won their conference
Michigan State won their conference
same record as Bama but Bama didn't win their division both Baylor and Michigan State won their Divison and conference.
I love the SEC and all but if we continue this eye test Bama will be written in every year because the media loves bama.

Have to take all that prejudice and subjectivity out of it from pollsters and the powerful media.
Media doesn't control who wins the conference - that happens on the field.
End of story. Maybe if Bama learned how to actually win the SEC before claiming they should play for titles - they might not have this problem.
Do you think Bama didn't win their conference in all their previous titles before the BCS?
