I'm being a little bit of a smartass, but ask the average football fan who the QBs of Texas and Alabama were at the time.

I think most would remember McCoy, but probably 1 out of 20 non-SEC fans would remember McElroy's name.

Why are yall comparing McElroy and McCoy?

This is about McCarron - he'll be better remembered than both.

And that's only been 4 years ago. 20 years from now people will probably hav forgotten Mccoy. They damn sure will have forgotten mcelroy. Just like they'll forget about AJM. When I'm old the thing I'll remember about these bama teams, like I already said, is that Saban was the coach and they had incredible, elite defenses that were damn tough to score on. Not who the QB was.

Sure.

Manziel made headlines outside of football, and that reaches more people.
