better discussion,
Could Saban win a NC at Dartmouth?
Could Saban win a NC in the pacific NW?
Could Saban win a NC and a superbowl back to back?
Could Saban win a NC on the moon?
Could Saban win a NC in the USSR?
Would Saban make a good CCCP commissar?

Lou Holtz built that into a respectable program
Oh no he didn't. He nearly destroyed that program and Spurrier had to do a complete rebuild.
Spurrier has had done an outstanding job at USCe. I think that Saban could improve recruiting based on his reputation but, it wouldn't be that must better than what SOS has accomplished. South Carolina is a small state with two major programs. It would be very difficult to built a championship program there.
My short answer, NO.

There's some truth in here.
Holtz recruited a lot of guys who could play football, and got us from 0-11 to beating Ohio State every year, so there's improvement there. However, Holtz recruited some guys with low self standards of conduct. Summers and Watson were amazing athletes who couldn't stop smoking weed. Moe Thompson could have been a Pro, but he liked to steal shite. We haven't had the frequency of player problems under Spurrier that we did with Holtz. Spurrier cleared a lot of the bad apples out his first year.
Also, that part about small state and 2 D1 schools is legit, but not totally. GA has 9 million people and 2 D1 programs. FL has tens of millions of people (and 10's of millions more undocumented people,) and has 3 Big D1 schools. SC has 4 million and 2 D1 Schools. LA has almost 5 million, and only 1 big D1 program. However, AL has around 5 million people and 2 D1 schools, and they win hardware all day there.
If something awesome were to happen to clemson (like and NCAA Death Penalty) then USC's recruiting and program would rise a lot. USC already gets the best instate players, but we would get even more with clemson out of the picture. We could build an even better program if we just took the SC Top 10 and then filled in the rest from other states.

The money difference will be crucial over the next 20-30 years. Seriously, the amount of money that USC will be getting from its conference affiliation will eventually more-or-less put Clemson out of business.

No. BAMA made Saban great.
Saban couldn't outcoach the chicken curse at USC

Why not? They've been top 10 in the past 3 years under Spurrier.

Wut? Check out LSU's record before Saban got there. They were awful, certainly far worse than South Carolina is with Spurrier right now.
1. LSU has a lot better resources than South Carolina
2. South Carolina was 0-11 in 1999, Saban's last year at Michigan St
so yeah, no

Why are you bringing up South Carolina in 99 when Spurrier didn't get there until 05?

There is a big difference between South Carolina and Alabama in terms of High School football talent and programs.

"Better resources," doubtful. Facilities maybe, I'm not sure about "resources." Define "resources." What exactly is "a lot" better about LSU's resources, or facilities for that matter, than South Carolina's?
Certainly not your academic enrichment facilities.
Certainly not your bank account.
Indoor practice facility? Stadium? (Yes, yours is larger.) What?

There's certainly more talent in LA than SC.
