So much for the demise of the SEC.

Five teams in the top eleven of the current BCS ratings, and the amazing thing is that UGA, LSU, and UF are not among the five. This truly shows the overall, year-to-year strength of the conference.

Everyone overreacts every year.

Just wait, this coming offseason, everyone will expect 2014 to be just like 2013, and everyone will be shocked when it's not.

When the schedule threads were happening, it's what I tried to tell people. You don't fricking know what's gonna happen.

Yes, but it is a down year in the league and the SEC East is weak with two top ten BCS teams representing.

This is one of the strongest years in the SEC - even though it may not seem so because of the cannibalization that has occurred.

Next year is going to be the real monster though. Thank goodness the playoff kicks into effect next season because we will not have a #1 team for most of the year.

I feel like every time an SEC team loses -- someone comes to the boards to troll the hell out of us. I've seen that it usually takes teams in the SEC about six games to figure out where they are. Tennessee was a joke in the first weeks -- now they're hangin' in there with some pretty good teams. The team that played Oregon the second week is not the same that play now.

Likewise when Georgia got beaten by Boise State -- I guarantee if they had a rematch in week 8 or 9, they would have beaten Boise.

FSU is the only team in the country that's getting the same caliber recruits as the top of the SEC on a consistent basis, and it's showing on the field this year.

ETA: IMO FSU, tOSU (maybe), and USC & Texas (both with the right coach) are the only programs that have a shot at competing with the best the SEC has to offer. We've seen how tOSU, Texas, and Oklahoma have done when they sent their best. I really think it's down to FSU and USC.

Did you not see Tennessee at their stadium get rolled for over 400 yards 55-23?

He said they are hanging in with some pretty good teams, not the great teams.

This is a good point. We have had classes that would put us into the top 3-4 in the Big 12 that wouldnt even get us in the top 12 in the SEC.

This is the one thing that scares me about Pinkel. I know they use their own ratings system to go after and target recruits but at some point that system could fail and look out bellow when that happens.
