Ingram is really the only joke winner and that's only because of the Bama hype machine. Most others in the last decade are pretty reasonable.

So it comes down to 1) one-more-year-of-JFF then a really lousy NFL team, or 2) bolt this year, leave A&M w/o JFF, and go to a semi-decent NFL team. It's a quandary for me, as I want him to succeed.
I can understand and respect that, but gotta go with hoping he comes back to your team, unless you are lucky enough to have him drafted by your NFL team.
I love to see former Tigers do well, but I won't lose sleep over it(unless they do bad for the Saints.) And I really hate to see them end up in Atlanta.

For all other players that's the same thing I think: help A&M as long as you can, then (hopefully) find a good NFL team. With Manziel, though, I can see him immediately being good on a decent team or wash out in 2 years on a lousy team. I'm not sure there's an in-between, but we'll see. I'm still hoping for one more year at A&M, but I'm wishy-washy about it because I think we owe him wishing for the best situation (team) he can get.
I'd love to see the Cowboys draft him and you know JJ won't care about his "issues". Brees has a lot of good years left or I'd hope for him to end up in New Orleans. We're agreed on not-Atlanta, not-Tampa Bay, and presumably not-Philadelphia.

Do you think Houston could look JFF's way? Seems like Schaub has fallen out of favor. Always been a fan of his, and wanted him to do well.
I'm glad Brees still has several years, because you have to have a QB to win in the NFL now. Almost wish Mett hadn't raised his stock as much as I think he has. I think he would of been a great flyer in the 5th round. Learn from Brees and Payton.

Possible and that would be a good landing spot for JFF. But being raised in North Texas this isn't something I hope for.
Mett is bound to find a good team. He's more of a prototype NFL QB than JFF so he could fit in a lot of places. But what the hell do I know?

Would love for Mett to land in Arizona. Already have a bunch of Tigers out there, and one of the best WR in the league.
Gotta be one of the best spots out of teams who need to look for a QB. He also doesn't HAVE to start from day one with Palmer there.

If JFF doesn't get it, well he better get it.

No. It's a popularity contest. Too often does the best player in college football not stand a chance.
Its basically the most inflated offensive stats award.

I'm glad JM won last year. I think the Heisman should go to the best player in cfb. Regardless of their team's record. Too many times , the award has gone to the best player on the best team. I think that is bullshite.

I used "/thread" because Mark Ingram winning the Heisman was a complete farce. It was obvious that the trophy was awarded to the best player on the best TEAM. That's why the Heisman Trophy is a joke/beauty pageant.
I agree there it was debatable when Ingram won it, but to say it was a complete farce shows your ignorance. Ingram in 09 had better stats than when Bo Jackson won his.

What? Ingram was Bama's most productive player on offense that year. The award isn't based on talent.

Mark Ingram won the heisman? Hell yes.

This is so dumb. Wins and losses are a TEAM stat. If a rb run for 260 yards and 3 tds but his TEAM lost, you would hold that against him?

Now concerning AJ. I think the nature of our team and the style of ball that we play can make people scoff but AJ is a serious contender. He is a smart, heady, athletically gifted QB. He has good size, underrated mobility and the arm strength/touch to make every throw he required to in our playbook and offense.
You have to be joking. AJ has never been the best qb in his own conference. Let alone all of cfb.

I still don't get what people wanted that year. Toby Gerhart to win? His numbers were inflated, imo. Ingram won the Heisman on Championship Saturday because he ran over Florida's defense.

IF Alabama wins out then likely he would not have made a major mistake that cost his a victory no need to bring up other seasons. But Manziel and Mett have made said mistakes.
Mett and JM have made mistakes because they don't have one of the best defenses in cfb. AJ doesn't take the risks these qbs do because he knows that he has a great defense to rely on.

I think posters are seeing Ingram not do well in the NFL and then using that as a reason to say his Heisman was unjustly won. They forget how good Ingram was in 2009.

I haven't took the heisman serious since 1997 when Woodson beat Manning.
