Losing sucks. But, this team has exceeding expectations. We can't let this loss linger around and frick up and lose more games. I know you are all pissed, and I am too. But, there is still a lot of football to be played. BTW, when is Franklin supposed to return?

Meh. Loss is a loss. Some are worse than others, but a loss like this to USC after beating the frick out of Georgia and Florida is better than I thought our first loss would be (at UGA).

It is what it is, and we're in a hell if a position moving forward.

Still in the driver's seat for ATL--this loss didn't change that

Y'all control your own destiny, though. Yeah, you can't frick around and lose another game, but that's still a much better position to be in than hoping other teams in your division lose unlikely games (A&M's position up to the Auburn debacle).

We're pretty good about controlling our destiny.

Thank you!! I was just about to start a thread saying the same thing!

I watched Tennessee play today. We should be able to successfully take our anger out on them. This one's over, put it in the rear view mirror and take the lumps we are going to get after all the shite talking some of our fans did this week. We are Mizzou, this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Now, please sober up, sleep it off and get ready for next week.

Keep your chin up

This loss makes me sick, too, if that makes you feel any better.

im just gonna sit back, hold on, and enjoy the ride. i can't change what happens on the field. if it was up to me, mizzou would have won that game 100-0. but, SC played hard and got a little help from Mizzou shooting themselves in the foot. i dont blame Pinkel for giving the ball to Josey on that 3rd&2. But, some of you disagree and thats fine. Lets just hope this team can rally around one another, pick their heads up, and go out and win next week.

The only person I blame tonight on is Steckel for not being smart enough to defend the screen pass.

I dont think we can blame anybody individually. Win as a team, lose as a team. I think its safe to say, we struggled offensively. The WR's dropped balls that should have been caught and Mauk taking 9 yard sacks? We can't be doing that or we will lose the rest of the games we have left. Bottom line is, we need to shake this game off. The team needs to get motivated next week at practice and not let this happen again.

Call me crazy, call me stupid. That's just my opinion as a fan. We all think differently about the game, and this game especially. But I think we all can agree that we need to come out next week and look better than we did tonight.

Exactly. In a game that close, there are so many places the game could have been "won" or "lost," it's unfair to ascribe too much blame to anyone.

Agree 100%. There's plenty of blame to go around. Mauk has to quit running backwards when he feels pressured though. This ain't high school.

Tennessee is going to be mad after their loss today, but also beat up. That is a winnable game if we play close to our potential. If they get that loss stuck in their heads though, it could be ugly. Close the book on it and look forward. We still have 4 games to play.

Agree. Scramble in circles if you have to, but not backwards. That's how Manziel got sacked to end the game against Auburn.

I'm going to wager that Bama took the fight out of UT. They're battered, not pissed. Hard to work up a good mad when that particular Bama team beats you because they are a machine. Mizzou better hold on to the hurt from this game and hit the Vols with both barrels, and they'll go down IMO.

The offense had a 17 point lead going into the fourth quarter. Could they have done more? Yes. But our defense lost this game in the fourth quarter. Mainly because they gave up huge yardage on the damn screen pass. I blame Steckel 100% for that, and I guess we can just agree to disagree.

We should beat TN. But like you said SEMO, if we have this game stuck in our head, the same thing will happen tonight. I don't like Mauk at the helm. I really don't. I see potential, but don't think we will be able to dig in deep enough with him with what time we have left. We didn't look like the Mizzou team that has taken the field in the first 7 games. I think we can agree with that. There were balls that were dropped that shouldn't have. I felt like our line did a great job blocking Clowney, but left the door wide open for other players on their D-line. Mauk has to learn to throw the ball away and not get sacked for -9 yards.

I like your style of fandom! glad to have you on board.

Cinderella took plenty of lumps before she made it to the ball!

Mizzou is still in a very good place. Just need to learn from this stumble and not look back. We all would like to see this team make it to Atlanta.

Get ready for Tennessee!! One game at a time.

Respect all, fear none!

TN looks pretty solid. I wouldn't say we should beat them. Mauk is a major liability, he is terrible. We could lose 3 of the last 4. We'll likely lose at least 1. We'll need USC to lose another game if we want to go to ATL.
