I'm taking that stretch of games because that is the stretch of time the media has been "sleeping" on Alabama. I am not saying Alabama is not getting attention because they should not be #1, I am saying Alabama is not getting attention after the A&M game because beating up little kids is not impressive.
I'll make it a timeline for you
Week 1 Alabama beats Va Tech, win strong enough to question Va Tech quality
Week 2 Alabama is on bye, much hoopla over coming A&M showdown. Alabama coaches and players claim it is just normal game and not a big deal rematch. no one believes them.
Week 3 Alabama beats A&M in shoot out, no one expected offense - results cause media to pundits to question Defenses of entire SEC despite game only involving two teams
week 4 Alabama clubs baby seal colorado st, pundits still talking about Alabamas tremendous offense and future heisman winner AJ mccarron in wake of A&M game. Hoopla over pending "top 25" ole miss begins early
week 5 Alabama suffocates Ole Miss like a bag of kittens under water, the only points Ole Miss scores are awarded to Alabama, talk of overwhelming Defense returns.
week 6 Alabama actually drowns kittens on the field, very little coverage
Week 7 Alabama drowns wildcats on the field, very little coverage
week 8 Alabama prepares to drown extremely ugly horned kittens, very little coverage
are you sensing a pattern?
Again, this stretch of Alabama's schedule is so weak the best coverage they can get is what they are getting -- none. at the end of the year when 1 loss Alabama proclaims they should be allowed to defend their title in deference to possible undefeated teams such as Florida St and Ohio St on the basis of the brutality of an SEC schedule, no one will piece it together that Alabama actually had an extraordinarily easy road.

So why can't you understand why people are still skeptical of Oregon??
Oregon has only beat ONE team with a winning record so far (Washington) and they played Stanford a week earlier and even without that, Washington's best win was Boise. They haven't proven anything.
