According to this, Presbyterian is the smallest FCS school with 1,200 students...so, a stadium that is nearly 6 times the size of the student body is pretty impressive.

They have 105 on thier roster, and only 600 male students in school, so 18% of the male student body plays football.

The Blue Hose has only been in the FCS ranks since 2008, and a member of the Big South Conference for 3 years including this one, but they have been playing football since 1913. They have appeared in one bowl game - the 1960 Tangerine Bowl - where they lost to Middle Tennessee. Their long-time rival - who they don't play much anymore since moving up to Division 1 - is Newberry College...

For FCS schools in South Carolina, Presbyterian is probably one of the if not the weakest programs, on a scale with NC's Western Carolina. While USC does play FCS opponents, they typically have scheduled only the ones with a lot of winning tradition and history, such as SC State, Wofford, Citadel, and Furman.

This season we've scheduled Coastal Carolina for the first time, who is a relative newcomer to FCS, but their program was started from scratch at that level in the early 2000s. Coastal used to be a branch college within the USC network, but became an independent university some years ago, They have pretty much been a weaker FCS program despite mostly having winning records because they have played in a weak FCS conference. But this year they are having a program-best season: they are currently 6-0 and ranked 8th nationally in FCS...

We have a new stadium since moving up to D1. it's actually quite nice. And a huge upgrade.

pc is the smallest D1 school playing football. So, we'll cash the check and head back to Clinton. Hopefully not too banged up.

The Big South Conference is the worst. Current head coach: 8-36 at that level.

I interviewed for an academic position there a long time ago. Nice enough school, though my interview wasn't on campus.

Are you referring to the play against Wake Forest a few years ago? That was pretty sweet.

I played at PC in the late 80s. The coach now was our QB back then. It's been a tough transition to D1.

Two of my best friends went to PC. The school motto is "Praise The Lord, Pass the Bourbon." Always a good time there.
