To me it is clear that it would come down to Baylor and jff for the big 12 title. I know y'all enjoy being in the SEC but it has to hurt knowing y'all would be favored by a large margin in the big 12.

I'd still rather be here. You have no idea how shitty that conference is.

The Big Dumpster Fire is on its way to being the SWC after Arkie left and SMU got the Death Penalty. I mean it was nice to beat everyone and all but then when we would play a real team the step up in competition would often throw our team off and we would blow it. There are 2 stadiums that hold over 60k in the conference and very few that come close to selling them out.
Oh, and you also have ridiculous officiating crap like the Texas/Iowa State game. It's just a joke of a conference and no one cares about them anymore.
At least in the SEC the Ags play the best and if we can find a way to win we will know we are the best. It's also just a hell of a lot more fun to play in real stadiums against legit teams and be on national TV every week. I live in Austin and can see more SEC games on TV than Big 12, a lot more. Think about that. If the Big 12 is on they also get the 4th rate announcers for the most part. Also, ever make a roadie to Waco, Lubbock, Manhattan, or Stillwater? They all make Starkville look like a college football Mecca. Outside of Austin and Norman all of the venues suck badly and neither of those 2 is as good as the upper half of the SEC.
Ask yourself the same question as well, would you rather LSU goes to the Big 12 and is the heavy favorite or play with the big boys?
Let's also not forget that if A&M were in the SEC our recruiting wouldn't be the same. The best players want to play in the SEC, period. It just doesn't translate. We also wouldn't be building a palace of a stadium but rather just doing a modest update to Kyle.

Enough reason to get the hell outta there.

Not really the same since we have our entire history in the sec.

Closer than you think. Aggies really only cared about Texas in terms of games that were noteworthy. Baylor was a team we always beat or if we somehow lost it was a disaster of a season. It was a close by game but honestly it had the feel of LSU playing La Monroe or something like that. Tech always made us their Super Bowl, they wanted to beat us more than Texas and always hated us more than Texas because they wanted to be Texas' rival. Lubbock was just a horrible road trip. Horrific fans in a POS town and a LONG drive to get there. OU was a decent game but not really a traditional rival.
Honestly from my perspective when I was in school the Big 3 games were Texas, LSU, and Arkie. We still play 2 of them and one day we will likely play all 3.

Jesus Christ, this has been discussed ad nauseum. Not a single A&M fan wishes they were still in the BDF.

There are only 3 teams with which A&M has "history" with in the Big 12 compared to 2 others in the SEC.

I imagine they all would much rather be in the SEC regardless of results. That said, I'd love to see Baylor and A&M square off this year. Would be a ton of fun to watch.

I get y'all's argument but you cannot tell me there isn't part of every aggie wishing that Johnny football got a chance rape that awful Texas d.

Go back and look at a pre-Manziel A&M vs. RGIII's Baylor in his last season. Since 1985 it has taken a really bad A&M team to lose to them (23-2, IIRC).
And to answer the question, I could care less if we ever compete for the SEC championship. I couldn't stomach another slate of crap-arse conference games. Iowa State? Kansas State?
No thanks...
