You go on pure stats when one guy sets the all time record vs. the Univerity of Alabama on O. 98 yds. rushing, 465 passing 5 tds .

That's the same as Nevada vs long beach st.

But the argument is that Manziel won't win it out of spite. If Mariota puts up video game numbers like Manziel, which he is doing so far (and sitting out most of the 2nd half and not doing anything when his team is up big), then he would have just as much claim as Manziel. Last year you could say "he's doing it against SEC defenses" but I'm not sure that applies this year, and many SEC fans would agree. If Oregon goes undefeated, he has a valid argument

Miller is not winning it, as he already sat out 2 full games so his stats can't get him even close to the numbers he needs. He needed a 3K/1K type season with 35 total TDs to be in the convo
