This is just a post to talk about how sick both of these backs are.

-The main difference is Gurley is most special for his raw power and speed, while Hill is most special for his ridiculous vision and elusiveness.

-Gurley breaks tackles with Spencer Ware power while Hill diverts all their attacking power slightly off so they never really run head up on him.

-They are virtually the same height and weight Gurley being 6'1 232 Hill being 6'2 234. Both have great balance and breakaway speed.

-Gurley is that typical power back but his speed and balance is incredible for a guy his size. Hill is very light on his feet and you ponder how can he move like that being as big as he is.

-Both have ran over 100 yards and at least 1TD against Bama, South Carolina, and Clemson, and both should run for over 100 on each other's teams.

This battle of the Titans will be fun to watch.

One plays for a program well known for the legal troubles it's players have.

The other plays for LSU.

This is basically how I look at Gurley/Hill.

While physically similar, Gurley is more powerful, and probably a bit faster.

Hill, like you said, has GREAT vision and elusiveness. Reminds me of Ingram (in college, not in the NFL, plus he's a lot bigger than Ingram).

Those two are great at a couple of things. If we were to talk about Yeldon, who we can probably agree the other head of the SEC's three headed RB monster, is really good at a lot of things, but probably not great in anything except always falling forward and stretching out.

Throw in guys like Tre Mason, CAP, Collins, Williams, etc, and the SEC RBs are STACKED.

Gurly is a proven back. Hill is not.

Hill laughs at Gurley's workout routine.

The way I see it is the exact opposite.

Gurley is the one with the sixth sense running through the pile, as if he's running in slow motion in his mind. The size/speed are just bonuses.

Hill is the stereotypical power back who gets yards because the OL opens gaping holes.

I mean... Really?!?

LSU has a history of stereotypical power backs and Hill is nothing like them.

I'm talking Ridley, Ware, Charles Scott, Alley Broussard, Addai... Yada yada yada

Interesting breakdown. I don't see anything I would argue about.

I learned something form you, too. I had always thought of Hill as a power back. Did not know his vision was so good. not good for us as our defense tends to bunch up, instead of staying in lanes. Hill will spot holes and hit them.

You either know nothing about power backs or you haven't watched Hill play, ever.

Yeah, just like Ingram except 20 lbs heavier and 3 tenths of a second faster in the 40.

I like Hill, but I think Gurley is better. I also think Gurley will be a better pro than Hill.

That said, Hill has over 200 yards tomorrow and Gurley around 120.
