As an Ole Miss supporter, how do yall feel about Peyton Manning?

I personally do not root for the guy like I do Archie or Eli simply because he went to Tennessee. He's almost like a cousin to Eli and Cooper, not a brother. He comes to Oxford some, but he's just not part of the Manning family as we see it.
As I've gotten older, I've grown to understand why he decided to go to UT instead of Ole Miss. We were under heavy probation and frankly, the GOB network destroyed any semblance of what our program was like during Archie's reign. I honestly don't blame him for going to Knoxville. Had Cooper stayed healthy, Peyton probably would have come to Oxford anyway.
In light of The Book of Manning debuting tonight, I'm curious to hear ya'll's thoughts.
This pic tho....

The probation makes it pretty easy to forgive.

I'm a big fan of Peyton

There are worse places he could have gone. I like him but I would like him even if his name wasn't Manning though.

I like Peyton but I don't really associate him with Ole Miss.

I like him. You can't blame him for going to UT. I think he really wanted to go to OM. The guy idolized his dad and wanted to follow in his footsteps exactly, but OM was a clusterfrick at the time. I feel bad for him, really. I'm sure he would have loved to be the one to bring the Manning name back to OM.

Meh on Peyton, it's whatever.
My Ole Miss fanhood dates back to 2008 when I went to my first OM football game at the Cotton Bowl vs. TTU. And began strongly considering going to Ole Miss. Grew up a Cowboys fan so even though everyone here loves and adores Eli, I really couldn't care less about Eli as NFL football player. However it's hard not to love the history that the Manning family has given Ole Miss football.

Peyton is an Ole Miss sidewalk fan, nothing wrong with that
. He grew up loving Ole Miss more than most of the fans we have now, you cannot fault him for going to TN because of the dumpster fire we became. You can also look at it as, Peyton going to Tennessee paved the way for Eli to come to Ole Miss.

Good Lord..."dates back" to 2008? You are a rookie.
Mine dates back to 1992 when I saw Cassius B Ware beat Eric Zier's arse at VHS when I was 5. Going to games at the Vet in Jackson. Those were the glory days.

You started strongly considering going to OM in 2008?
fricking hell I graduated that year. I was trying to figure out WTF to do with my POS English degree at that point.
The answer was nothing. I joined the military.

I always want to see him play well... Not when he plays the Saints or Giants but any other time... Funnest NFL QB of alltime to watch on Monday Night.

I was just adding that little tid bit so that I wasn't crucified for not loving Eli, like I am around these parts.

Best decision I ever made. Completely turned my life around.
I mean, I wasn't a tPOS or anything, but I had NO direction. It really matured me.
