Well Oregon lost to a team not named Bama in the MNC.. So i would think you would identify at least two teams that are top tier.

That was in the past. I'm pretty sure Duck fans are only concerned with the present and not magical years.

7 in a row & only 3 were Bama. 1 tier conference?

While his claim does sound absurd, 3 of the last 4 have been Alabama. All of the SEC National Champions have caught breaks.
2006: Michigan was not given a rematch.
2007: "Year of the Upset". LSU is the only 2-loss BCS national champion.
2008: Were Texas and U.S.C. screwed? Florida was fortunate to have overcome the Ole Miss loss.
2009: Colt McCoy got hurt. How good were 2009 TCU and Boise State? Boise State went 14-0 and was good enough to shut down Oregon in the opener and defeat undefeated TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.
2010: Auburn's season featured several breaks. The National Championship game was close, and TCU couldn't compete in a playoff to make the championship game.
2011: LSU won in Tuscaloosa. Alabama was then fortunate that Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State and the voters forgave Alabama's November 5th loss to LSU.
2012: Notre Dame went undefeated. Alabama was fortunate that Oregon and Kansas State lost the weekend following Alabama's loss. The National Title game matchup should have been Alabama versus Oregon. Alabama was blessed that Texas A&M had two losses and that Stanford had lost to Notre Dame.
