Here is mine
"look at the facts man. We pay less than anybody for coaches"
I hate that. Cry me a friggin river. It's BS. OSU's OC was making 52g a year prior to being hired by them. Are you trying to tell me we can't find assistant coaches at that level and pay them a little more than they are making? That guy could have been hired for 85gs and the opportunity to advance.
Stop with the pity party. "oh we are MSU we can't because.... " We can, and we should demand better. There are no excuses. NONE!

To those that said, "Well, the sun was in Jameon's eyes." BS. It was a night game.
To those complaining about the 3 man defensive line. All of the D line were in a mini-meeting on the sidelines. Someone said that we keep this up, and we are going bowling! Well, most of the D-Line remembered how much fun it was to go to the bowling alley, and they left the field to go get dressed. Collins only had 3 linemen available. The prevent D was his only option! BS. Collins could have sent a manager to get those guys back to the sidelines.
You cannot defend a QB that throws completions to himself. BS. They never ran that play again, now did they? We must have defended it better. Poor game prep with an OK mid-game adjustment.

Like everything else you say, this is taken totally out of context and without any semblance of reality.
I haven't "made excuses" for our assistant coaches because of money one single time ever. I've done a helluva lot of driving the boat on bitching about the coordinator money though -- and drawn correlations to why the good ones get away from MSU as soon as they can and the ones that stay, we don't want.

I don't recall mentioning you. However, if you are one of those that thinks we don't pay enough to be able to get better coaches, then you are now who I am referring to.

We don't pay enough to keep good coordinators. That much is basically an indisputable fact. At best, we are a stepping stone job for hotshot Sun Belt coordinators. This sucks when we pay enough to a head coach to basically be a destination job now...but we can't come up with the extra $250k to pay coordinators(and excellent assistants) competitively.
So every single year, we lose our best and brightest -- and are left scrambling trying to hold the recruiting class together.

That I can agree with to a degree. But there is a way to get past that.

Yeah -- Hire Hud and bring Steve Campbell back to Starkville as OC.
Hud is tight enough with the people who write the big checks that I feel confident he can get whatever he wants monetarily for assistant coaches...

It's been awhile now and I can't remember exactly but was Campbell involved with some of the stink that landed us on probation under Sherrill? Or was it the coach who went on to Byram or somewhere like that?

Campbell was only here in 03 -- so I doubt it... They were already deep in the investigation before he showed up.
