Besides the revenge factor, do Bama fans really care more about this game?

I'm no where near as excited for this game as I was the 2011 LSU/Bama game.
For the 2011 game, I bought a fresh bottle of bourbon, way too much bbq from my favorite bbq restaurant, Saws. I invited only a select few friends over to watch the game because I knew they wouldn't chitter-chatter about dumb shite like I accept with less compelling games.
This just seems like another run-of-the-mill big time SEC game. If Bama was playing LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, or Florida this week, it would have the same amount of intensity and importance as this one.
I understand A&M fans are excited because they're hosting the #1 team in the country and feel like this could propel them to the top of the SEC.
But for Bama fans? For everyone else? I don't see the hype.

Yes. This is a statement game just like UF 2009, LSU 2011, and the UGA Blackout. We have a lot to prove tomorrow. Mostly that we are still the king of college football.

I'm very excited. For JFF to cause tears.

Bama has been on top for so long, nothing is hyped for them anymore.

Sorry for partying little bro. You'll be back... eventually.

Numerous #1 recruiting classes, 3/4 NCs, and the likelihood that if you lose only one game, you'll still get in the BCSCG.
I think you're king of CFB even with a loss tomorrow.
This is a statement game only in the sense that people are asking if Saban can stop Johnny Football, which we all know he can and will.
This game just seems silly to hype up. It's not like A&M returned 22 starters. It's not like there's a dozen 1st rounders on their team (2011 LSU).
Just seems like a lot of hype built up by Aggies and ESPN only because of one player.

It's a big game obviously. One of the bigger games on our schedule. I guess I'm just weird but I would refer to my "excitement" about big game as "dread". I am dreading this game, but not dreading it like I would have the BCSNCGs, SECCGs, or the LSU games the past 5 years. It's just a tough SEC game, nothing more. We're playing for this game only- not the SEC Championship and not the National Championship.

I care because it's the next game on the schedule. Just another game to me. It's no Tennessee or Auburn.

It's an Alabama game so I'm up for that. But LSU has been a :cough: :Cough: rival for a lot longer. I always look forward to the LSU/Bama game.
TAMU still has that OOC feel to it.

I care about the "next" game, more each and every time. This is the one we are playing next. Next week is new story. If you understood the process you would not have asked. 'preciate your interest.

Not really... after all, if Alabama wins, the game will be vacated four years from now after it's discovered AJ was sleeping with a male professor in exchange for free grades all along.

The whole "revenge" angle is weak to me too. Had that loss cost bama a shot at the title, then yes I could see it. But it didn't and they still achieved their ultimate goal.
Like in 04, LSU fans weren't looking for revenge on UF from the year before, because honestly, it didn't matter in the long run. LSU got to the top and that's all that mattered.
This is the ESPN machine doing work

It is. The infatuation with Manziel and him beating Bama last year is the only thing going for it. Doesn't really have NCG implications because it's still way too early to paint the BCS picture. I guarantee a 1 loss Manziel machine will get in over unbeaten teams for the title game as well as a 1 loss Bama. People would love to see an Oregon v TAMU or a Clemson v TAMU. People would love to see an Ohio St v Bama.
Louisville may be the only unbeaten team at the end of the year and their schedule will not put them there.
