Not really, if they played an inelligible player, knowing or not, they can get in trouble.

Eta, more so vacating games though, maybe a tack on of failure to monitor.

You're right, they can. But teams have also gotten off with playing ineligible players. If the school goes through the right steps reporting everything. Let's hope Alabama did.

They seem to have done a good job of it under Saban so far.
