That dude looked pretty good. Solid power running. So much more effective than the finesse guys Bobo likes to run up the middle.

Eye opener that's for sure

Quayvon Hicks still has to be my favorite new guy though. Dude is a wrecking ball.

He's another bull. Solid backup for Gurley. But the biggest surprise was the OL stepping up.

Clowneys name was not called often. Granted we had to gameplan for the guy but, I don't think he was much of a factor today. Im not saying he was gassed or that he isn't a beast, just saying that other than that bonehead single back formation on 3rd and long when he got his sack, and one decent tackle on Gurley...not much he did had any effect on the game.

He did end up hurting Gates, not on purpose, but still. wonder if hes gonna be ok.

I thought we had decided to call Douglas ROWK (Roided Out White Kid)

One of the announcers actually said "Clowney hanging into Gurley for dear life." Didn't think I'd hear that. And Mark May calling Gurley the best back in America. Not that he isn't, but Mark May has never been one to give Georgia credit. For anything. Ever.

Maybe I'm just talking shite, but I think Douglas can outrun Gurley in a foot race

I'm really liking our options in the backfield this season and for the next several years.
Finally, we have backs that can consistently convert 3rd/4th and short.

When he ran over two Carolina backs on the same play, I fricking went nuts..

I would have to watch the game again, but what did we do differently to Clowney? I really didn't see too much double teaming or anything special. (Granted I wasn't watching Clowney specifically, so it could have been going on)
Gates got beat once badly by Clowney, but what Tackle wouldn't. We may have seen Gates take a HUGE step forward in becoming a decen tackle. I DID see Clowney take himself out of some plays by charging inside and the ball went out. Whatever the cause, it made an impact on the game.
SouCar has three legitimate DLinemen. Quarles and Sutton to go along with Clowney. I didn't see where any of them were a major factor. Their running backs were a nice replacement for Lattimore, though.

I rewatched some of it last night and it looked like we did a great job of blocking him and getting the play off quickly enough to negate his rush.
There were a few times when we ran right past him and Murray also scrambled out of the pocket too...which led to some big plays. You could also see Clowney taking off and going at half speed a lot too.
