I've talked to plenty of SEC fans in real life since the move has been announced and never once has anyone mentioned anything about Mizzou and the Big Ten.
If there's people saying it, they're trolling you or they're a trailer dweller sitting in their own filth complaining.
The real answer in rant context is: when it stops getting a response from Mizzou posters.
I'm not trolling. I just think Missouri is a better fit for the B1G, and if they're ever invited, I won't be surprised if they accept. There's nothing wrong with that, either.
But that may never happen and I'm happy that Missouri is in the SEC. They'll be fine and make the SEC a better conference.

Is it because they drink soda pop?

The future looks different than predictions. Everyone thinks we're going to end up at 16-team super conferences. But the whole system is broken (read: unsustainable). There's a college tuition bubble out there and when it pops, we'll see all kinds of changes flow out of that.
Having said that, we are more of a Midwest school and would fit better playing Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana. No sense in being delusional.
But, we're in the SEC - the premiere football conference in the country and football is the marquee college sport and revenue driver. So we are duty-bound to compete and grow and build. Here's to us taking some baby steps forward this year.
