I think this is the biggest thing people don't seem to grasp. WSU's offense is tough to defend

WSU's offense is tougher for certain personal types. Not having a solid coverage ability from your linebackers coupled with a limited pass rush opens up intermediate passing routes which WSU exploited big time. I thought compared to last year our ability to defend the bubble screen was improved but we could be better. With the exception of a couple blown coverages, our DBs did a decent job

While our front 7 will still be a weakness, the gaps played by the dline will improve our ability to face the run as well as the emergence of Monty as a significant contributor.

Also, let's not forget that Eguae and Sanders both excel in run support and WSU did not outside the guards frequently (who would when both A gaps are exposed and Jake Holland is in the middle). Considering both of them as well as Kenny Carter were effectively nonexistant due to the play calling of WSU, we should see a step up from the ends in the run game.

I'd imagine Carl Lawson and ELijah Daniels have an improved game as well seeing as they have one under their belt and can focus on the play at hand rather than the lights, fans and thinking about what is going on

I refuse to believe we will not see a step forward from our linebackers #posibarner

Eguae got burned for a huge run trying to bull rush the passer and not setting the edge. He just doesn't have it. Great kid, mediocre DE.
