Question for LSU fans - Santos Ramirez (Evangel)

Anyone know what's going on with this kid? Does he have a commitable offer from LSU? I get the impression that he'd commit if he could, so I'm guessing he doesn't have one.
I think Arkansas is his backup plan and he's the type of kid we'd like to get out of LA when we can.
Anyone know if LSU is even considering taking another safety this year?

He's a good player. You'll probably get to keep him.
His offer is conditional on his senior season for us. Our coaches want to see him have a great senior season at evangel.
There is an under the radar guy from baton rouge and marksville that play the same position. We'll probably take one of those other two at safety.
Ramirez is a safety. La is loaded. Gonna be a good get for the pigs.
Russell Gage from BR camp to camp when we had all of the big fish on campus and really stood out. I would assume if gage stays healthy, Ramirez is yours.

The coaches want to see him play his senior season. Bad thing is he might not be able to play his senior season. I've doubted for a while he would be part of this class. We'll take a look at Russel Gage out of Redimptorist or Mattrel McGraw out of John Curtis.

Ive seen him play a lot as well. The kid was all state his junior season on a high profile team such as evangel. If yall snag him he will be a big contributor to yalls defense.

Cool, thanks everyone. That's how I thought it was but I wanted to be sure. I'd really like to start vacuuming up the talent that LSU doesn't take each year, and it looks like there will be a lot left over this season.

I thought this was Ramirez? By all accounts he did really well against the big dogs that were there. Same may be true of Gage, but I definitely remember reading that Ramirez pretty much earned LSU's consideration that day.
ETA: OP, arky will be getting a good one if we can't make the numbers work, see above. Dupree, Speedy, and Quinn were all there along with a 2015 stud WR. By all accounts Ramirez went toe to toe with them.

Gage moreso. But yes Ramirez shined at our camp, he's a baller.
I'd rather these guys go to arky than ATM or Bama. Bama has killed us with the "leftovers" and now use them to recruit the big fish.

Gage is a take over McGraw

I don't see Santos as a part of LSU's class anymore. I think the ship sailed when hi old coach at Captain Shreve tried to screw over his eligibility to Evangel.
The coaches wanted to see more and now that may not happen. I think hes going to Arkansas which is a shame because he would have been a good role player for LSU somewhere

Coach Lary? No surprise. Kind of a douche bag. The fact that Ramirez had barely any scholarship offers before means that Lary wasn't doing his job.

Depends on how many spots LSU has left and LSU wants to see him and depending on how he plays could get offer. Could get greyshirt offer as well but I think Ark offer would trump that.
If LSU would lose out on Brown and Jones than Santos would definitely get offer and probably commit on the spot to LSU.
To hedge his bets I could see him committing to Ark early and if LSU comes through switching.
Ark has commits already from several lower rated LA prospects. Ole Miss snagged a bunch under Orgeron and some turned out really well that LSU had no room for.

Looks like Ramirez was ruled eligible and will be able to play soon. This will clear up his situation with LSU. If he's physical enough, to go along with his coverage skills, we'll press for him.
