Stanford was a conference champ. If you can't win your own fricking conference should you be national champs? The fricking logic there is like arguing with your wife on her period. SO CIRCULAR.

Florida was more qualified than any one loss team last year besides Bama. Don't see how that wouldn't at all factor in to the equation either. So because one team plays in a vastly superior conference, they should be punished? That doesn't hold a lot of weight to it. A lot of the backlash on Florida is they were an ugly team, and there is simply no denying that. But their resume spoke for itself.

And if all the other conference champions had lost two games should THEY be the National Champions? I think the best two teams should play for the National Championship, no matter what conference they come from.
What if there had been a playoff system back then and Alabama and LSU had ended up beating their opponents and ended up playing each other for the Natty. Would you have had a problem with it then?

A conference championship provision only serves to give the appearance of objectivity; however, it's flawed. Not all conferences are equal. The SEC is the best and deepest. Every other conference only has 2 or 3 great programs while the SEC has 4 minimum.
