Pretty sure they let him play. They let Cam play, they will let JFF play. Money > rules.
The rules are not right, but they are still the rules. NCAA has been pretty weak ever since the Penn State deal though.

NCAA fricked themselves with the PSU deal. They greatly overstepped their bounds and they know it. If PSU really wanted a prolonged fight that stretched several years, they could definitely sue the NCAA under anti-trust violations and potentially win tripple damages.
PSU just wants to get it behind them, but I think the NCAA is treading more cautiously after they went out on very thin ice with the PSU penalties.
Then they just botched the Miami investigation by being overzealous.

The Penn State situation was a freebie for the NCAA. It's like when the tough dude beats the shite out of a guy and then the wimp runs in and smacks the guy while he's down. They gained no enforce respect from the Penn State case, imo.

That's like saying the NCAA has been pretty weak since they took a sledge hammer to State College and killed their football program under a "good of the game" precatory part of the rule book. That was a nuke they dropped on PSU.
