But does aTm even have to consider the recommendation?

You might want to change the headline. When I put this in two threads earlier today before you started an entire thread on it, I made sure that I put "according to a source" which you should have in the headline.

The NCAA has not stated this, it's a source with A&M.

Nothing is gonna happen. Manziel will play. I dont want any bull shite "Colt McCoy" type excuses when we play A&M this year in College Station.

i doubt they say anything other than play him

but if they do recommend sitting him the Ags would be absolute morons to play him anyway.

Kudos to the NCAA for the speed on this one.

That's a strange thing to say.

All insider reports are mixed on what will happen but one thing is consistent. They have not found a "smoking gun" or paper trail to show Manziel received money. So if they suspend him it will be solely that he signed autographs that he knew were going to be sold for money by someone else (assuming they have proof he signed the thousands of things that the sources who won't come forward say he did). I just can't imagine the NCAA really wants to go there and if they do it will be a very light suspension.

I think Johnny plays Saturday and doesn't miss a game.

I feel bad for aTm at this point if the NCAA says sit him after their chancellor spewed his BS Manziel's lawyer has just cause to sue aTm's pants off

As much as I think the NCAA rules as stupid, Manziel is a gigant douche and other players have been screwed over for a lot less.

If he broke the rules he should be cooked.

If he broke the rules and A&M doesn't give a damn and plays him anyway, then they should get hammered later.

Based on the now universal opinion among insiders that the NCAA has no actual hard evidence, this is going to go down one of two ways:

1: The NCAA says he is clear and he plays

2: The NCAA recommends some sort of suspension, A&M tells them to go frick themselves and he plays

Most of the people close to the situation think A&M would call the NCAA's bluff and play him. I think the NCAA gives him clearance if for no other reason than to save face. They know they don't have enough to logically force him to sit and A&M playing him in spite of a recommendation for suspension just further shows how little power they have.

Yea wtf does it mean "recommendation"? "Uh, we uh, really think you should do this, you don't have to though"

If I was TAMU my response is: "frick you"

If they recommend suspending Johnny for a single play, I hope A&M brass immediately calls Slive and asks "Are you ready to bring them down?"

Slive has his finger on the button and could destroy the NCAA anytime he wants.

recommendation? Does that basically mean A&M has the discretion?

My guess is all NCAA personnel got signed merchandise in return for allowing Manziel to suit up.

You're trusting Finebaum and a possible A&M source for your headline?:
