If you were Mark Richt, would you hold out some of your secondary players this weekend who are marginally-healthy (Matthews/Moore)?

SCAR the following week is really the pivotal game for the Bulldogs' 2013 season, right?

I would get them some reps and sit them when the game is in hand. Need reps in a real game.

Yeah, no need to risk injuring them against the week one creampuff.

Richt will play anyone if the trainers ok it. Also, it won't matter too much b/c their defense should only play around 50 snaps.

It will be their Super Bowl.

Start them and see how long they're needed is what I would do if I were Mark Richt.

This is the right answer. You don't sit starters in week one, you have to get the rust out.

I would play the players that give us the best chance to win. Btw Matthews is fine and will start. From what I understand Moore is the only one in real danger of not playing (I would actually count on him not playing at this point). Matthews, Fluker, Wiggins, Langley, Swann, and Dawson will all play if I had to guess.

Another question for you, SECR peanut gallery:

Do you think UGA's shaky situation at kicker could actually turn out to be an advantage?

Vegas thinks this is going to be pretty high scoring game. Give the UGA offense 4 downs in what would normally be field-goal range, and it may result in some backbreaking TD's on the CU defense.

Y/N?

You ever see that movie, Friday Night Lights? You know the Dallas Carter team that never punted, always went for 2, and seldom stopped for a FG?

That. Times infinity. Woody Hayes style.

Then Georgia fans will invoke Prima Nocta

Why would you want to risk losing when you want to contend for a national title? That would be insane.

It was a couple years ago for uga against florida. Their kicker was hurt or just shitty and ricth went for it a couple of times when you would normally kick field goals and ended up w TDs instead of FGs...
