Louisville the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
I preferred September because the weather is far and away nicer. Thanksgiving can be anywhere for warm to cool to cold to frigid depending on the year. Looks like the series will be here for the long haul though since the SEC decided to move the Tennessee game on our schedule.

I think it's really interesting how we're setting up for a ACC-SEC challenge. We already have Georgia-Georgia Tech, Florida-Florida State, South Carolina-Clemson, now Kentucky-Louisville. I think we'll see an official matchup organization pretty soon. Vandy has also played Wake Forest annually for several years, but I think they're moving to Duke this year. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few years.

If the SEC-ACC schedule regular series against one another then the 8 game schedule may stick for both leagues. I know Notre Dame plays 5 ACC schools a year now, but that is still 9 ACC schools playing a 8 game conference schedule. I still want to see A&M-Texas and Mizzou-Kansas. Those teams need to drop the grudges and schedule one another again.

I like it and have wanted an end of season rivalry game for a long time.

You don't consider our one win against UT in the last 3 decades a rivalry?

I meant in comparison. Plus it'd be nice for shutting up some UofL fans who claim we only want them as the first game to catch them off guard.

2014 Schedule

8. Kentucky is the SEC's thrown bone. Problem: LSU is up-in-arms over the 2013 SEC schedule, where Alabama gets Kentucky as their rotating cross-division game (vs. LSU getting Georgia) in addition to having Tennessee (instead of Florida) as their permanent cross-division rival. Solution: why, just give LSU their turn facing Kentucky in 2014! The Tigers get a little bit of special treatment, the Tide can't complain after their 2013 slate, the SEC gets a little quieter spring meeting (maybe), so everybody wins!

Well, except Kentucky. Kentucky -- whose rotating West opponents have included Auburn's title-winning team in 2010, LSU's 12-0 SEC champions in 2011, preseason No. 1 Alabama in 2013, and now LSU in 2014 -- most certainly does not win.

I've always wondered how Kentucky really feels about the Tennessee game, and vice versa. It seems like a game that should be a big rivalry, but just isn't due to Kentucky's (let's just be honest here) lack of success against Tennessee.

It's a really good basketball game (I still consider Indiana and Louisville bigger UK rivals, as an outsider).

The UT rivalry was big in the 60's-70's, but when UK quit winning, it went downhill fast.
In basketball, IU and UL are bigger in bball, so is UF at this point. For the same reason, UT hasn't been that competitive overall.
